We recently sent out new Contact Forms for you to update your personal details to enable us to maintain our child records.

Please can parents who haven’t yet brought the forms back do so as soon as possible, to allow our records to stay in conjunction with our safeguarding policy, as parental contacts are very important in case of illness or an emergency. Thank you.

Birth Certificates

Please could the parents of children who receive the Government NEG and Think 2 funding please bring in their child’s birth certificates.

2 Year Progress Summary

From approximately around the age of 2year and 5months each parent will be given a 2 year progress report.

This report includes vital information about how your child is progressing developmentally and if we have any key areas we wish to discuss with you. As parents you can also add any points or views that you wish to include which will help towards your child’s learning.

We will also be making a copy for you to hand to your child’s Health Visitor at their 2 year check as the report should help to coincide with their review.

Birth Certificates

For all children who receive Think 2 Funding and Government 3-4 Funding, please can you bring in your child’s Birth Certificates for us to copy and keep on record.

The Birth Certificate is very important as we must have proof of each individual child and age etc this information is then used by the Staffordshire Council Auditors and if we haven’t got the information to hand then the child is not eligible to claim the funding. Thanks

Jeans 4 Genes

On Friday 19th September please could all children wear their Jeans for the day and donate a minimum of £1 to help raise money for the Jeans 4 Genes charity. Thank you for your help.

Staff Changes

Hayley Lovatt has returned from Maternity leave and has resumed her role as Cubs Room Supervisor working alongside Kelly Finney who has resumed the role as Kittens Room Supervisor.

Since Louise Plant is now on Maternity leave, Jenny Price has taken on the full role of Tigers Room Supervisor and Julie Adams will be now working alongside Jenny as the new Tigers Room Assistant.

Angela Morton is still Lions Room Supervisor/EYP.

Charlotte Ashby will be working as Nursery Assistant to cover within the Lions and Cubs.

If you have any queries about the above then please don’t hesitate to ask.

Staff News

I would like to inform you that myself and partner Nigel are expecting our second child, due 6th March 2015.

I am hoping to work up until the beginning of February 2015, but will inform you of my leave date near the time.

Kelly Finney will be Acting Manager with the support of Shazia Dhad.

Kelly has been deputy for nearly a year and has done a great job, so I have every confidence that the nursery is in good hands and will be ran as professionally and efficiently as ever and I’m sure you will all give her the time and support that is needed.

Kelly will slowly be taking the reins but if you have any concerns etc please don’t hesitate to speak to us.

We have an excellent team at present and I’m sure they will give Kelly the support and commitment to ensure continuity within the transition.

Thank you, Lucy x

Summer Hat/Coats/Clothing

Although we do our up most to keep track of children’s belongings and ensure children are allocated their own pegs etc, we still have issues of them getting lost. Please can we ask you to name your child’s coats and any cardigans or jumpers etc.

In the unlikely event of us actually getting some sunshine please could you now provide your child with sun cream and sun hats.

Thank you.

Home link with parents

As part of our partnership with parents and to help bring familiarity and connections with home into the setting, we are asking and reminding all parents if they could allow the nursery to have a few pictures of people who are special to their child.

These will then be displayed on the board within your child’s room, to encourage connection and effective learning within the nursery environment whilst away from home.

Also we have been sending out reports and on the bottom there is space for you as parents to give your feedback on anything you wish to engage within your child’s learning so we can input to help with individual learning and development. We are asking if you would just take the time to so and bring it back to us once complete. Thank you.

Session Times

Due to safety and maintaining ratios, we are asking all parents who use our sessions such as 7-1pm and 9-3.30pm, that you collect your child at the stated end session time, unless you have notified us otherwise.

We have noticed that on occasions children aren’t be collected at the stated times and although we do try to be flexible, I am sure you appreciate that we also need to maintain ratios for the safety of others, if this proceeds you will also be invoiced for the extra time.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Health/Safety-Liability

For those parents who bring their children in pushchairs please can you now be aware that due to health and safety and also insurance liability we are asking you to collapse and put up your own pushchairs and store them in the shed. Thank you.

Funding –End of Term

For all children who attend the setting for the NEG and Think 2 Funding on a term time basis, your child’s last day at nursery will be Friday 18th July 2014.

They will return back after the summer holidays on Monday 1st September 2014.

We are asking all to dress in any football kits, England t-shirts or even just wearing red/white.

Happy New Year!!

Closure/Renovations!!

We wish to apologise for the recent closure which took place on the 6th
January 2014. For those that it affected we truly appreciate your understanding
and co-operation.

As you are all aware we have been having renovation work done within the
setting, this has been due to a leaking roof which damaged the baby room, and
also a burst water pipe, which has caused damage within the cubs and lions
room. The work is nearly complete, and we will hopefully be reaping the rewards
with our newly renovated baby room.

We thank you for your patience and co-operation and hope it hasn’t
caused you any inconvenience.

Monthly Fees

Please can you be aware that if you still have fees outstanding by the
30
th of each month you will incur a £30 late payment charge. If
these fees still haven’t been cleared a week after the 30
th of each
month then your child’s place within the setting may have to be terminated
until the balance has been cleared. Thank you

Staff Notice

We have decided to make a few staff changes within the Tigers and Cubs
room, due to Louise Plant working her normal full time hours again, and the
increase of numbers within the room, we feel it would be more beneficial to all
if she was allocated her old role of Tigers Room Supervisor. Which means Kelly
Finney is Room Supervisor for Kittens and Cubs and Charlotte Ashby will be the
Nursery Assistant. The change has only been introduced for the positive and
effective manor it will have within the nursery environment and can assure you
that it will not affect your child’s needs or daily routine.

If you do have any questions or concerns please feel free to talk to a
member of staff.

 Stay and Play”

As part of our partnership with parents, we feel it is important that
you as parents get to have an insight into what your children learn and how
they achieve and develop on a daily basis.

This is why we are introducing “Stay and Play” mornings within each
room, between the hours of 9.30-11am on a term basis.

The following dates:

Friday 14th February- Lions Room

Monday 3rd March- Tigers Room

Wednesday 12th March – Kittens/Cubs

We know how busy you are and work commitments may not allow for time
off, therefore it is open to any family member that wishes to attend, but
unfortunately due to space we can really only allocate one family member per
child.

If you wish to attend our “Stay and Play” mornings please reserve a
place with your child’s key person.

Dates for the Diary:

17th-21st Feb-Half Term

6th March- World Book Day

7th March- Our Community Day- Pancake Making.
